He is always spitting when he talks and biting his fingernails!

Hi Class...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today we started off learning about using 'always' + present continuous.

When we use always + present continuous we give a situation a negative connotation and suggest that it makes us feel angry / upset / annoyed.

For example:
She always puts the clean plates in that cupboard (this is what she generally does and I have no opinion about it).

She is always putting the clean plates in that cupboard (this is what she generally does, it really annoys me and I wish she would put them somewhere else).

Here are some of the sentences which you made...

After our Friday test we talked about some things which we don't like in a man / woman. Here is a list...

We discussed which of these things are the worst and talked about what is 'your type' and what is 'not your type'.

Your homework for the weekend is...

Write an essay of at least 150 words. Please try to use some of the vocabulary we learned in class and answer these questions in your essay.

How important is physical attraction? Could you go out with a person who was ugly? Have you ever dated someone who was ugly or had a disgusting habit? Is beauty on the inside?

Remember that your writing skills are important and although I know that writing essays is time consuming, it is very useful and beneficial to your language acquisition.

A huge GOODBYE to Francesca who will be moving up to Intermediate next week. Congratulations and we will miss you!!

Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
