A few weeks ago when we were studying the present perfect we used a song in class for practice. Some of you liked the song and wanted to know more about the band so here it is.
Here is the worksheet I gave you with the song,
The band is called 'The Divine Comedy', they are a good band to listen to if you want to practice your listening skills as they sing very clearly. The Divine Comedy are from Northern Ireland. They aren't very famous but they had a big hit (successful song) in 1999 with 'The National Express', a song about the view from a bus window! When a band only has one successful song in their career we call them a 'one hit wonder'. Other examples of one hit wonders are this, this and this, were these songs hits in your country? Can you think of any 'one hit wonders' from your country?
