It's almost Friday! Today we warmed up by comparing some music. Just in case you liked any of the songs and wanted to listen again here are the youtube links...
Song one: Bob Dylan - Just like a woman
Song two: Nirvana - Come as you are
Song three: The Streets - Don't mug yourself
Song four - The Pointer Sisters - Slow Hand
Song five - Bee Gees - More than a woman
After we had warmed up we began studying comparing with adverbs. Here is a picture of the board...
Remember, an adverb describes a verb. For a reminder of adverb form and use take a look at this blog from earlier in the month.
We also did a reading exercise about a music competition. Here is a picture of some of the new vocabulary we covered...
Next we talked about using so and such. The important thing to remember when you are using so or such is what type of word follows them.
So + adjective or adverb
such + (adjective) noun
Here is a picture of the board...
Remember: If the noun after such is singular countable (class, football match, hat) then you need to use an indefinite article (a/an). If you use an adjective the article comes after such and before the adjective.
It is such a beautiful day
She is such an intelligent woman
If you are using an uncountable or plural noun then you don't need an article.
It is such refreshing water (uncountable)
They are such interesting books (plural)
Well Pre-Inters it is almost the weekend but before that we have to have the Friday test... here is a revision list of things that will be covered in your exam...
